Before you buy a scooter/moped, note that it is unlawful to operate 50cc or 150cc scooter/moped on most highways. Since scooters/mopeds have top speeds of around 50 MPH, the law usually prohibits their use on interstate highways. 250cc scooter are allowed on interstate highways.
